Dr. Marie Françoise Vecchierini
Marie-Françoise Vecchierini, MD- PhD, is a sleep specialist at Hôtel Dieu Sleep center in Paris.
She is originally from Nantes where she earned her medical degree from Nantes university. She first trained in neurology and psychiatry at Nantes University, then trained in neurophysiology in Pitié-Salpêtrière university, in Paris.
She has been practicing first in Nantes at the University Hospital Center where she expanded neurophysiological investigations and sleep recordings. She had a special interest in sleep physiology, sleep maturation and sleep disorders in infants and children.
Since 1996, she is practicing in Paris, first in Bichat-Claude Bernard Hospital, as an associate professor (MCU-PH) where she created a clinical neurophysiological and a sleep unit, providing sleep consultations and polysomnographies. She had a special interest in sleep disorders in adults and children. She was also teaching neuro-physiology at the medical faculty and was a member of an INSERM clinical research unit (E9935).
Since 2008 she is practicing in the sleep and vigilance center of Hôtel-Dieu hospital in Paris.
She has been the secretary of the french clinical neurophysiological Society and was vice-president and president of the French Research and Medical Sleep Society (SFRMS) from 2001 to 2006. She is a member of the SFRMS, ESRS of the National Sleep and Vigilance Institute (INSV) and of the Morpheus network.
